Social Security Disability & Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
We travel to all of the islands, and have offices in Honolulu and Kona to represent people in Hawaii who need to apply for benefits or are at any stage in the appeals process.
Please be aware there are six (6) appeals. This includes that everyone has four more appeals after their first hearing before a judge. If you have been turned down for benefits and want an attorney to represent you in your appeal, feel free to contact us for assistance at (808) 536-8074.
There is no attorney fee, unless we win your case.
Our fee is 25% of the amount you should have been paid by the Social Security Administration up until the date your case is approved (also called, the back pay), or $6,000, whichever is LESS. This means at least 75% of your back pay and all of your monthly benefits going forward are yours to keep.
For appeals before the Federal District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, our goal is to recoup our attorney fees directly from the Social Security Administration. If for any reason we cannot or what we are able to recoup is less than 25% of your back pay, we will ask that you make up the difference out of your back pay. However this means at least 75% of your back pay and all of your monthly benefits going forward are still yours to keep.
We understand the high cost of living in Hawaii and many of the other Pacific Islands, which is made substantially more difficult to afford by disability. For that reason, we seek to cover all reasonable costs of representation, including postage, medical records and copies. At times, we have been asked to make significant payments for requested services. This is very rare, but if it were to happen, we will discuss it with you and seek to find alternatives at no cost to you. You will never receive a bill from us you are not expecting and did not agree to in advance.
